About us

Anikana Foundation is a Ugandan Women led Organization working with Vulnerable Women and children, Youths & Teenage mothers, and front mindset change the Sex workers & Drug addicts through economic empowerment and skilling.

The organization was founded by Mary Mariam Nakirya who was passionate about women’s
rights and well-being of society in the areas of Jinja City, Eastern
Uganda to promote socio-economic empowerment, health and well-being, environment
awareness and protection, human rights awareness, reduce gender based violence,
stigma and discrimination, promoting skills amongst youths, mindset change in the
youths and addressing teenage mothers.

The organization was founded in 2019 and registered on 20 th April 2022 under
registration number 80020003594848.
The organization also plays an essential role in the areas of Gender Based Violence
(GBV) prevention, promoting human rights awareness, advancing sexual reproductive
health and rights, (SRHR) for all, friendly access to HIV prevention services, demand
creation and transforming social norms for the integration of most at risk population.
Facilitating coordinated interventions responsive to the needs of women is ANIKANA
FOUNDATION’s core.

Education

Our programs includes provision of scholarlastic materials to talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, school infrastructure development, teacher training, literacy and numeracy initiatives, and mentorship. By investing in education, we aim to break down barriers, create opportunities, and build a brighter future for all. Join us in transforming lives by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word. WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Anikana foundation plays a pivotal role in empowering women in Busoga. Anikana foundation has been working tirelessly to promote mentorship programs that encourage families to prioritize schooling for their daughters. By enhancing educational opportunities, women are gaining the knowledge and skills needed to compete in the job market and pursue leadership roles within their communities.

Mindset change

Anikana Foundation recognizes that mindset is a powerful tool for personal and societal transformation. Our mindset change programs focus on empowering individuals to overcome limiting beliefs, cultivate positive thinking, and embrace a growth mindset. Through workshops, trainings, and mentorship, we equip participants with the tools and strategies to unlock their full potential and create positive change in their lives and communities. By fostering a mindset of resilience, optimism, and self-belief, we aim to inspire individuals to achieve their dreams and contribute to a brighter future.
