History
Anikana Foundation is a Ugandan Women led Organization working with Vulnerable
Women and children, Youths & Teenage mothers, Sex workers & Drug addicts. The
organization was formed by women who were passionate about women’s rights and
well-being of society in the areas of Nakanyonyi in Jinja City, Eastern Uganda to
promote socio-economic empowerment, health and well-being, environment awareness
and protection, human rights awareness, reduce gender based violence, stigma and
discrimination, promoting skills amongst youths, mindset change in the youths and
addressing teenage mothers.
The organization was founded in 2019 and registered on 20th April 2022 under
registration number 80020003594848.
The organization also plays an essential role in the areas of Gender Based Violence
(GBV) prevention, promoting human rights awareness, advancing sexual reproductive
health and rights, (SRHR) for all, friendly access to HIV prevention services, demand
creation and transforming social norms for the integration of most at risk population.
Facilitating coordinated interventions responsive to the needs of women is ANIKANA
FOUNDATION’s core.

MISSION

OBJECTIVES
To facilitate quality life through skilling programs, access to health and justice for all, including the documentation of violations against human rights in our community.
To establish and strengthen partnerships and alliances for environmental protection through mass campaigns and awareness amongst stake holders in Uganda.
To mobilize and organize vulnerable groups for socio-economic transformation initiatives.
To provide free counseling services to the less privileged youths and women.
To rehabilitate teenage mothers and school drop outs.
To fight stigma and discrimination in access to health and other social amenities by vulnerable persons.
To advocate and create more awareness about gender based violence in our communities.
To educate orphans and other vulnerable children.
To promote sanitation and WASH.
To Educate women and youths on how to farm and add value to their products.
